Experienced fighters meet on the UFC 110 undercard as the UFC comes to Australia.

Although the main card of UFC 110 features a number of headline fighters, the undercard has a series of competitive bouts. Although none of these fights will propel the fighters into title contention, they could determine who remains fighting in the UFC. Local MMA favorites Elvis Sinosic and Chris Haseman meet in a grudge match while fan favorites Stephan Bonnar, Chris Lytle, and others round out an exciting undercard for UFC 110 in Australia.

Elvis Sinosic vs. Chris Haseman

Both Elvis Sinosic (8 Wins – 11 Losses – 2 Draws) and Chris Haseman (20 Win – 16 Losses) have been involved in MMA for over ten years and can be considered as pioneers of the sport in Australia. Although Elvis has fought more frequently recently, he struggled to find success in the UFC despite a significant submission victory over Jeremy Horn. Haseman is a tough fighter and previously defeated Elvis with a chin to the eye submission back in 1997. Haseman has an edge in submissions and grappling while Elvis may have an advantage in striking. Elvis may be able to out strike the slightly older Haseman, especially if he utilizes quick footwork and avoids the clinch. However, look for Haseman to secure a takedown and ground control to ride out for a decision victory.

Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski

Stephan Bonnar (11 Wins – 6 Losses) is looking to rebound from two straight defeats against Krzysztof Soszynski (18 Wins – 9 Losses – 1 Draw), a tough wrestler who can grind down his opponents. Bonnar, known for his willing to throw down and strike is mentally tough, but looked lackluster in his defeat to the aged Mark Coleman. Soszynski however is always tough and will seek takedowns in order to set up a ground and pound attack. He also favors the Kimura, and if he can close the distance against Bonnar’s reach advantage, will dominate his opponent. If Bonnar can use his strikes to keep Soszynski at bay, he may take a decision, but is unlikely to knock his opponent out. Look for Soszynski to ground and pound his way to victory in the third round.

Chris Lytle vs. Brian Foster

MMA veteran Chris Lytle (27 Wins – 17 Losses – 5 Draws) is a tough, well rounded fighter with solid hands and submission skills. His opponent, Brian Foster (13 Wins – 4 Losses) is a solid fighter with wins over credible opponents. Despite this, he lacks the experience of Lytle, who is notoriously difficult to finish. Lytle will be able to dictate where the fight takes place, and although Foster may be able to avoid submissions, he will not be able to generate a ground offense against Lytle. Look for Lytle to dominate the striking to take a decision win.

Goran Reljic vs. C.B. Dollaway

Goran Reljic (8 Wins – 0 Losses) is returning from a long lay off to meet C.B. Dollaway (9 Wins – 2 Losses) from The Ultimate Fighter television series. Although Reljic possesses Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills with five of his wins coming through submission, look for Dollaway’s wrestling to be the determining factor of the fight. Although Dollaway has been caught in submissions before, he has been the more active fighter lately, and trains with a stronger MMA team. Reljic’s ring rust will cost him dearly, as C.B. Dollaway takes a victory via strikes on the ground.

Igor Pokrajac vs. James Te Huna

Igor Pokrajac (21 Wins – 6 Losses) meets local standout James Te Huna (11 Wins – 4 Losses) who is looking to make a splash in the UFC. Losing to veteran wrestler and MMA fighter Vladimir Matyushenko in his last outing, Pokrajac, who trains with Mirko Cro Cop will look to out strike his opponent. James Te Huna is likely to oblige in what should be an exciting stand up fight. Any fighter may take away a win, but Pokrajac has more experience, and one more loss could lead to his being cut from the UFC. Look for Pokrajac to win via decision.

UFC 110 takes place on February 20, 2010 in Sydney, Australia.
